Charismatic leadership inspires followers/people to believe in his/her capabilities and the possibility that the leader will direct them to the right direction. A leader, in this case, communicates in a convincing manner that draws the attention of the followers and motivates them to act according to the will of the leader. Indeed, charismatic leadership is powerful in influencing others. Identifying the strength and weakness areas is an important step in evaluating the quality of leadership and areas to improve. In all the 78 categories under investigation, my score is above the minimum acceptable level for a charismatic leader. However, my strong areas include consciousness in managing the state of mind, radiation of likeability and empathy, inspiring confidence, and authenticating true self. These areas are significantly important in charismatic leadership because of the strong influence they demonstrate to the behavior of others. I intend to continue building in these areas, a situation that will enhance my leadership style.
Despite the fact that my score in all the areas is above the average, two areas including having self-awareness and servicing as a leader require some improvement. Developing self- awareness is acquired through the attainment of emotional intelligence. The acquisition of the strength in this area starts with the evaluation of oneself. After the understanding of oneself, it becomes easy to understand others and their needs. Therefore, charismatic leadership requires an individual with a significant strength in this area, and hence the need for improvement. Serving as a leader is an important quality of charismatic leadership. The aspect, in this case, is a demonstration of how committed and understanding a leader is to the problems/issues/needs faced by the followers. A leader can influence the followers better depending on how he/she demonstrates an understanding of their needs and aspirations.
